I grew up right before Algore invented the internet and I had a lot of fun with CB radio and packet radio. 5 years later it’s all gone because you can do the same thing and better over the internet. I can only suspect the same thing will happen with amateur radio. Who wants to string up a long cable from tree to tree and buy a bunch of ancient equipment if they can download an app that will do the same thing. probably very few people. enjoy the hobby while there are still remnants of it, pretty soon it will be nothing but static and maybe a little interference from 5G towers 😛
