Connect 2 lengths of wire to the base and clip on the connector. Search the Internet for “Dipole Calculator” to figure out the length of wire for the band your using. Raise the center up as high as possible and stretch the 2 wires out.

A few months ago I was building the ZZRX 40 Receiver, live on TikTok. Then I got too busy to finish it. Now I don’t really use that platform anymore, so let’s resume the live build sessions on YouTube!

Let’s get our ADSB-Go Box to advertise its own wifi access point so people can see the planes flying over head. We’ll setup a wifi hotspot and talk about some ways to make it easy for folks to connect.
Add this to /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf:
—-
network={
ssid="ADSB"
mode=2
frequency=2432
key_mgmt=NONE
}
—-
Add this to /etc/rc.local (above "exit 0"):
—-
# turn off wifi powersaving:
/usr/sbin/iw wlan0 set power_save off
# set wlan0 ip address in line with ADSBexchange image settings
/usr/sbin/ip address replace 172.23.45.1/24 dev wlan0
# start dnsmasq – provides network infrastructure for small networks: DNS, DHCP, router advertisement and network boot.
/usr/sbin/dnsmasq

A very affordable Morse code paddle for portable operations, the QU-21C / QU-2020A key is small and light. For this paddle and all the others in the series, I took it in the field multiple times and put it under rigorous testing. Here are my thoughts about its performance.

I have 3 sizes of solar panels from the Gigaparts Explorer line, a 60w, 150w and 300w panel. Today I get to test all of them in non-optimal sunlight, which makes for a good test for this type of panel, which is normally not going to be optimally pointed at the sun.
