Some hams I know do everything in the VFO. They rarely stray from their ‘home’ repeater, and if they do, they just dial around until they land on the new frequency. (Most of them stopped doing even that when most repeaters adopted CTCSS tones).

You probably program your radio, maybe even using software. Do you have a plan, or do you just chunk stuff in there Willy Nilly? Let’s find out.
