You’ve signed up to work an event. Or an ‘event’ (hurricane, tornato, earthquake) has appeared to ‘work you’ as an Emcomm/ARES/Auxcom volunteer. Then a family emergency pops up. What do you do?

Netflix ordered a TAKEDOWN of Episode 506 (How Can We Podcast With All This Light?).
We’ve disputed it. It could come back any minute… or not at all.

HRN 506: How Can We Podcast With All This Light? Complete version (I hope)
If you watched the program LIVE, you saw YouTube interrupt the stream several times, then take it down completely, claiming that we were violating a copyright. I appealed based on Fair Use. I expected to win the appeal, but I didn’t expect it to happen in just a few minutes. That’s nice. No apology was offered (none was expected🙄).
However, while YouTube restored the stream, it was their CENSORED version, with big hunks covered with their black screen and title, and then trunkated when the cut the feed. I guess they didn’t keep a clean version.
But I did. This is it. And I’m expecting this upload to draw another copyright claim, because I don’t think anyone’s paying attention over there… they’re letting the bots run the show. If I’m wrong, I’ll apologize! (I won’t be wrong).
Gary reviews a Netflix series that has a whole lot of radio in it: "All the Light We Cannot See," based on a book by the same name. It’s set in WWII, in a coastal French town, and involves a clandestine shortwave broadcaster and the German radioman assigned to track her down. And of course there’s a love story.
Like most general media, they take a lot of shortcuts with the technology. We’re not upset… we’re amused. It’s fun to see how they handle radio in a series that is so dependent on it.
Then we use a demo from Helge LA6NCA to show you how it’s really done. We shortened Helge’s video from 16 minutes down to 6. Here’s a link to the original:

Gary K4AAQ (King of HAM) has a short video from a parade he helped with on Saturday. It was ham radio, and a bit more. David W0DHG is remote from a POTA operation with his WaveTalkers co-host Chris W6AH.
