Winter Field Day 2021-LIVE streamed with Brand New BuddiHex

Winter Field Day 2021-LIVE streamed with Brand New BuddiHex

#winterfieldday #hamradio #buddipole #iphone
I went live from on top of Mt. Vaca where we operated for Winter Field Day 2021. A handful of operators deployed with me for the special event station N6W Ham Radio TV.

This trip was a lot of firsts. This was the first time that we know of this location was used for a Field Day/Contest. This was the first Field Day experience for three of the Hams that came. This was the first time I operated the brand new BuddiHex by BuddiPole.

The new BuddiHex is expected to be available Spring 2021. This was a preproduction model I was beta testing. The 6-20 meters BuddiHex performed flawlessly and I was able to work the East coast and South America the whole day.

Stay tuned for a full video, I’m currently editing!

ARRL Sweepstakes Contest w/ FT-991A

ARRL Sweepstakes Contest w/ FT-991A

#Ham #Radio #ARRL #Contest
In this video I share some contesting during the November ARRL Sweepstakes phone. I was not in it to win it, but I enjoyed every minute of it. I also share some tips and tricks I personally like to do. If you’ve never contested before I encourage you to try one out and just grab a few call signs.

From ARRL:
2020 ARRL November Sweepstakes
arrl.org/sweepstakes
CW: First full weekend in November (November 7-9, 2020).
Phone: Third full weekend in November (November 21-23, 2020).
Contest Period: Begins 2100 UTC Saturday and runs through 0259 UTC Monday.
The ARRL’s annual November Sweepstakes is the oldest domestic contest, beginning in 1930.
Sweepstakes paused during World War II but came back stronger than ever. It’s a competition
between North American stations – individuals, teams, and clubs. For many US and Canadian
hams, it is their first contest operation and remains a regular event on their yearly schedule for a
lifetime. The contest is somewhat unique in that each station may only be contacted once and the
number of different recognized locations (“multipliers”) is limited to the ARRL and RAC
sections. Working all of the sections is called a “Clean Sweep” and allows the station to claim
one of the coveted Clean Sweep coffee mugs – there are other awards, as well.
