I’m new and I was remembering things that I have learned from YouTube and the days leading into this 5th day of our trip. The reason I knew about the Madmacs was because of Mikey SD Fish and Sips 🙁 I also tied my own San Diego Jam Knot on this Madmacs. Crossing into warmer waters leads to bites was my proactive approach on this troll. I remember thinking it and making sure my line was in the water when this happened. This was my first trip, and this troll hookup was another 1st for me. Pure enjoyment on the Independence Sportfishing boat.
We are on day 5 of our incredible fishing trip, focusing on some serious offshore fishing action! We headed further south for Yellowfin and found them. The Independence was the first boat to turn in big numbers for the 2026 season.

This one was special. I’m new to this game and this fish was 100% my fight. The rod never left my hands. A memorable milestone for me and very happy I remembered to hit record.
