How tough is the ICOM IC-705’s internal battery really? How Long Can the IC-705 Really Last on FT8?
In this video, I unplugged everything and ran a full FT8 battery torture test — continuous 15-second TX/RX cycles until the radio shut itself off. No external packs, no wall power, no mercy.
We’ll find out:
• How long the BP-272 battery really lasts
• What happens to transmit power and voltage as it drains
• How the IC-705 handles FT8 at 5 watts continuous
• Will it POTA?
