In this video from Cedar Hill State Park, we set up and test three popular portable antenna systems for Parks on the Air (POTA): an Alpha Antenna dipole, a Chameleon vertical whip, and an End-Fed Half-Wave (EFHW) sloper.
Using a 4-port antenna switch and running each setup for 30 minutes, we test signal reports across the country and break down the contact distribution maps and radiation patterns to understand the best use cases for each antenna.
Antennas Tested: • Alpha Antenna Dipole (N/S orientation) • Chameleon MPAS 2.0 Vertical Whip • The Spool Antenna EFHW (Sloper configuration)
