Short video explain what Analogue to Digital is and also Digital to Analogue. We look at bit-depth and sample rate which both have an impact. CDs for instance have a sample rate of just over 44kHz and 16 bit sampling rate. Let’s understand what this means. Callum.
How can an antenna have a NEGATIVE gain – and still work great? I often quote gain in NEGATIVE numbers. What is that – and why do they work? Let’s unpick dBd and dBi and why we need these numbers to benchmark our antenna results.
This calculator will tune any wire antenna – as long as you know where it’s resonant now – and where you want it to be resonant. Have confidence, it works on quarter waves (verticals or dipoles), loops and EFHW antennas! Callum.

Wavelength and Frequency can be worked out once we understand the speed of light. By dividing the frequency by 300, we achieve the exact wavelength. Try it yourself, divide 300 by 3.75 and you get 80m. That’s the 80m band. In this video we discuss mains frequency, 3-phase, audio frequency and in particular, the famous 300 – to – 3000 Hz frequencies ideal for communications voice and also sound frequencies. Enjoy! Callum.

I know you can buy headsets for a "fiver" but if you are serious, these take some beating. I plugged these into the TS-990s Ham Radio and was quite surprised. NOTE: I have EQ set on my radio for a Heil Headset – there is no doubt I could probably make both mics on show here sound a lot better..! Callum.
Why is aircraft-band on AM? Why do I hear a nasty squeal sometimes when two stations are on same frequency? Why can I hear all the stations on an SSB Pile Up? Let me explain. Callum.
Wow.. This is interesting.. Tilted Ground – or Tilted Antenna. Fascinating experiment! Callum.
