I get a lot of emails from well-meaning people who want to know if their antenna idea will work. I don’t know – but this video might explain. Callum.

Are Verticals Antennas actually "noisy" – or are they just doing the job we asked them to do? Let’s try and understand why this. Let me know what you think. I’m still not totally convinced eityher way. Discuss! Callum.
Shout if you can hear me or just join in on the live-chat. I’ll be in stereo again (I hope) left ear is transmit vertical and right ear is RX loop – I might swap keep up! Wear headphones! 🙂 PS – Using callsign M0XXT. Callum.
Major Upgrade announced for DX Commander. These replace all telescopic pole stay-up kits from immediate effect.
I have personally been testing these for the last 6-months. We are shipping all kits with these from NOW. That means if we have not yet dispatched your kit yet, these WILL be in the box when we ship.

Fantastic experience. This is my first ever fully solo Portable Ham Radio trip with an outboard antenna (not roof mounted). I made some mistakes; no head torch / flashlight and I took too long and missed 40m in the dark. Effectively, I got up too late. Oh, and my coffee went cold. My thermos cup was sh*t!. Enjoy, 73, Callum.
Let’s start on 40m then when USA wakes up, we can try 20m, fair enough? Shout if you can hear me or just join in on the live-chat. I’ll be in stereo again (I hope) to left ear is transmit vertical and right ear is RX loop. Wear headphones! 🙂 PS – Using callsign M0XXT. Callum.
The problem with CB Radio is that at night, the band more often than not closes and you are stuck with a ton of gear and no joy. Now in MY world, the Ham Radio spectrum, I can flick around all the bands and find something that suits me, from a 50 mile hop on VHF down to say 80m where I can loaf along and talk to someone in Netherlands from UK. Now the very REAL problem is that also folks need to be polite and friendly and I don’t care if you are a CB operator, a ham radio guy or frankly just an idiot. We can still all be polite. Enjoy your radio and best of luck to you! Callum, M0MCX.
Starting on 80m and Cruising up through 40m and 20m, I’m just having fu with my radio. SHout if you can hear me or just join in on the live-chat. I’ll be in stereo againi (I hope) to left ear is transmit vertical and right ear is RX loop. Wear headphones! 🙂 PS – Using callsign M0XXT. Callum.
Roly (ZL1BQD) needs to understand what Solar controller and panels we need for the Pacific. Can you help us understand this? I fully realise everyone will have an opinion but I’m thinking maybe a marine Victron controller? What panels – and how many? Let us know in the comments. 73, Callum.
