Fascinating story of grit and determination. A story of a bushman who knew nothing about modern life but is now an engineer – he should have his ticket by January 2023. Right.. The current goal is $5,000 New Zealand dollars. See if you can help out please. Link as follows: https://gogetfunding.com/ham-radio-for-papua-new-guinea/
I’m in Bude, Cornwall and I have JUST managed to lever in a DXC Expedition antenna in the VERY SMALL front garden(!), overlooking the harbour master’s office (I’ll make a video about this). Tide is out but the salty ground should make for a reasonable RF experience. Probably 40m and 20m bands BUT we also have 17m, 15m and 10m if conditions improve. This is my last transmission from Bude this year since we go home later today. PS Using call M0XXT/P to keep the QSLing easier (thanks to Tim M0URX for organising all QSLs). 73, Callum M0MCX.
I might be too early for USA but Newfoundland / NY and FLorida might come in before I stop. Anyway.. I managed to lever the DX Commander Expedition into the front garden of this holiday rental house.. This is 6-feet / 2m wide and about 25 feet / 8m or so wide. It’s RIGHT on the road so I have to be careful it doesn’t come down! Pefect tune on all bands just not 20m – but there are stainless wires at around 5m long holding the decking rail in place. I guess they are just the right length to give me a nasty balance to the 20m tune. ATU fixes it. Great tune on all other bands. So I’m available on 40m, 20m, 17m, 15m and 10m bands. SInce it’s night-time, let’s call on 40m and see who we can say hello to! Using callsign M0XXT/P so that Tim (M0URX) can do the QSLing. I say this because I don’t QSL M0MCX. I don’t have the time sorry. 73, Callum.
WARNING – I might come on EARLIER than planned! If this works, I’ll be amazed. New operating style directly from vehicle with laptop on a steering wheel tray, the TS-590SG behind me along with the batteries (2 x 40Ah lead acid) and the DX Commander Expedition up front so I can see it. Thunderstorms predicted and so is heavy rain. Wish me luck. I’ll make a dedicated video about this in case something funny happens..!
Inspirational Video for local and regional Emergency Preparedness Officers and Managers and Amateur Radio Operators in how they can work together to solve complex communications problems in SHTF type scenarios. You can’t make this up "on the day". You need to plan and test these events with commited volunteers. Allow me to inspire you so that you can start your planning now and making relevant contacts with like-minded individuals so that you can test out your plans for the future.

In this video we run through regional identifiers and also special club callsign prefixes. Light hearted but educational whizz-bang tour of amateur radio UK callsigns. Do you know any series of callsigns yet to be released? How about G9XYZ or M2XYZ? Let me know in the comments.
This is the process – although I normally try and do two or three videos in one sitting if I can. I record all three cameras AND my screen for every video, just in case I need another angle – also VERY handy for editing out "erms" and "ums" – and mistakes! Anyway, enjoy! Callum.
Last week, we had a terrible solar storm and not much was coming through. I wonder if today is better? Let’s find out! Join the chat, listen out for me – or maybe call in. Using callsign M0XXT (club call). 73 Callum.
You can calculate your Power (Watts) easily. It’s like a puzzle – and it’s easy! Callum.

Brilliant idea for folks who find themselves sitting down a lot. This has improved my back no-end. It takes a lot for me to be impressed – but this is amazing – and I like it! Actually, I am standing here at my desk typing this! It’s quite amazing! 73 from a very happy Callum!
