Rember the Starduster? Why don’t we make a copy of this out of wire and put it up 18m or 60 feet? We can make this from wire and have the legs as guys! Let me know what you think and if there is enough support, we’ll build it. Callum, M0MCX.

Not all PL259s are the same. The newer designs are a superior design and accurate. Anyway, I nearly cock this up. Perhaps rate me out of 10! Callum.

It really doesn’t matter to me, but you can make the hobby more pleasurable by following some basic rules of the road and chosing to follow some best practices. Find a role-model that you enjoy listening to, don’t fall into the trap of taking short cuts. On the other hand, this is not life-or-death! Callum, M0MCX.

The TS-590SG is a lovely radio. I felt it needed more accuracy on the higher HF bands, which could have been calibrated I suppose without this TCXO but at least now I am cock-on when it comes to frequency accuracy. Also the military looking side plates are a cool addition. Looking forward to getting out and about with this and seeing how it performs.
