Today, we combine a couple of hobbies into one. The great outdoors and ham radio. We venture into the woods and to the lake to find some spots that we can answer the age old question… Will it antenna? That, combined with a great QSO we got to eavesdrop on between a seven year old and a ham at Arecibo, it is hard to imagine a better way to play radio… then we added a POTA activation on top!

We recently had the opportunity to test out the IC-705 by Icom. We activated a POTA station at K-2540, John. W. Kyle State Park. This radio, along with the Alpha Antenna FMJ performed extremely well!
