I saw this over the weekend, pretty cool. Using abseiling equipment to check the concrete structure of a radio broadcast tower for cracks and concrete cancer.

How do we "promote" amateur radio to others? Let’s face it, we have all seen those images of Amateur Radio and it is these myths that we need to actively work to dispel!
Justin VK7TW has only been licenced for 36 years and has been involved in the ICT industry mainly in Government for over 40 years. Justin has been and is currently the President for our local club who is hosting this Conference, on and off in various other roles for about 22 years and is a life member of REAST. He spent two years as President of the WIA in 2017/18 and is still involved at a range of levels and committees. Justin’s interests in amateur radio are broad from 630m to 10GHz, optical, education and promotion of this great hobby.

David VK5KK has a long involvement in VHF and above thanks to his father Keith VK5ZMK (now VK5KG). David has been active on the VHF to EHF bands for well as over 30 years of WIA and club activity. This includes being the main kit designer behind Equipment Supplies Committee for 15 years, ex VK5 WIA president as well as taking over the running of the AR magazine column "VHF-UHF an Expanding world" from Eric VK5LP in 1999 . Today David is presenting a short overview of the 122 and 134 GHz equipment he published in Dubus 3/2020 and 3/2022 editions

On a mission to try and break the terrestrial world record for the 10 GHz band between Hawaii and California, Rex VK7MO takes us through the journey and issues encountered.
Rex was first licensed in 1960 and graduated in Communication Engineering in 1962 and started working with the Bureau of Meteorology working on the Australian Radiosonde network. In 1973 he moved to administrative roles in the Head office of the Department of Science in Canberra and in 1985 Rex moved to Hobart as Deputy Director of the Australian Antarctic Division and then Director of the AAD between 1988-1999. In VK7 Rex is considered to be a Microwave Guru!
