I recently read an article someone shared on a ham radio Facebook group entitled The Uncertain future of ham radio. The article seems to ellude to the fact that electrical engineers are the heart and sole of ham radio & they’re loosing intrest.

I’m taking a 10,000 FT look at three types of ham radio programing software. There’s so much to unpack here that a quick overview is 20 minutes. We’re looking at RTSystems software, Yaesu’s ADMS-14 package and CHIRP. The radio I’m using is the new Yaesu FT5.

The Mac Based Shack /RT Systems

First off, I’m not bashing the ARRL I’m pointing out some issues that enough people continually bring up that it is an issue. Next, in a sort of open letter to the leadership of the ARRL I’m proposing some solutions. I know, its a long video but I think I’m bringing up some valid points. I hope you take it in the spirit it’s offered and work to make the ARRL a stronger and more vibrant organization.

Garrett & I will go through the top things to stockpile for this coming season.
