It was so frickin’ cold in Texas on Saturday. The one day we all got together to POTA. Friday, 85 and sunny. Sunday, 85 and sunny. Saturday, ~50’s, windy, overcast, miserable. We almost died. But that didn’t stop us from getting on the air and activating. Though we didn’t stay out as long as we would have liked, we all had a great time and got the park activated and that’s all that matters. And that’s not the worst part. Out of all the places one can operate at Huntsville State Park, they had to pick the one spot I use. How dare them! But they have a cool group called The Houston POTA Group. They get together several times throughout the year to do POTA with each other. Kinda weird for me cuz I’m always alone but it’s fun to get out with your buddies to new parks and activate. People have always said good things about LDG but I’ve never really used one so I couldn’t confidently recommend them to people. In this video I took 4 non resonant antennas out to the park to see what this portable tuner could do and I was not disappointed. Admittedly there was some user error on my part getting things to tune, but once we got past the "me" obstacle, this tuner performed great.
