Sandy and I hiked the road up to Mount Union. We had a good time but always kept an eye out for approaching Thunderstorms. Lightning is dangerous and unpredictable. I use a lightning detector I purchased off Amazon to help remind me.

Despite the looming rain and the tower interference, Sandy W7NRS and I hiked to the top of Quarry Mountain for Summits on the Air. It seemed that the weather, band conditions, and commercial tower interference were all working against us, but we still eked out the necessary contacts to get our points.
I was trying a new waterproof backpack from Mier Sports but didn’t get to put it to the test – the rain missed us. https://www.miersports.com/products/waterproof-roll-top-dry-backpack?variant=39842553102470
