Today we build an aircraft converter kit. This thing will take in signals in the airband – 108-136MHz and then down convert them into the AM broadcast band so you can listen to them on a regular radio.

While I am a paper log guy, I know there will be times when I’ll need to log contacts with my cell phone. So I started the search for the logging software that works best for me. I started this Fall by trying HamLog NG on Lake Mountain, a SOTA activation. HamLog is great for contesting and very easy to use, but lacks some functionality I would like for a SOTA expedition. I then tried VK Port-A-Log on Summit Mountain and was very please with it. Now it’s time to check out Outd Log, so come along on this Summits on the Air activation of Sunset Summit, where I put Outd Log to the test.
