I have a friend, I’ll call him Tuje (pronounced Tooge). He has decades of experience in commercial VHF/UHF radio communications. He wants to share his knowledge, but he also wants to remain anonymous. I offered to host his videos on my channel. So here is another video in an ongoing series of helpful videos, primarily relating to VHF communications, but certainly not limited to that topic.
I asked my friend Dave K7MAD to print up a batch of K6ARK 3D printed Morse code paddles. He did so, and assembled them into kits. I want to give away these 8 kits to my viewers. They were printed with a remix that adds side panels and a bottom fixture that enables a leg strap.
Join my livestream on Thursday, March 2nd at 5:30 pm MST (00:30 UTC Friday, March 3rd) for your chance to win one of these kits.

In this video I use my new MFJ QRP Pocket Tuner to activate Lost Dutchman State Park in Arizona for Parks on the Air. I use a homebrew random wire antenna built from the K6ARK kit. I operate QRP with 5 watts CW on 20 meters and include the whole activation – 15 contacts.

Adam K6ARK has designed a very affordable, well designed Morse code paddle. This cw key is very inexpensive and yet is a great performer in the field. It is not available for sale so you’ll have to rely on your own resourcefulness to obtain one. If you have a 3D printer, Adam provides you with all the information you need to make one for yourself. If you don’t have a 3D printer . . . well, it might be time for you to befriend somebody who does!

Alan NM5S has been operating QRP radio in the field for many years. He has created a very functional station for himself. Like many of us, Alan enjoys building radio kits and antennas and making modifications to them to fit his preferences. Alan joins us in this episode to talk about his Summits on the Air adventures, his radio gear, and some of the interesting mods he’s made to his gear.
