If you’ve wanted to run FT8, Winlink, JS8Call, HF APRS, VarAC, FLDIGI, digital logging, or other soundcard-based ham radio modes with your Xiegu radio, this is the little green goblin-board that makes the magic happen.
In this video, Hayden VK7HH and I are launching the DI8 together using YouTube’s collab feature. We’ll show what the TOADs DI8 is, which radios it supports, why the Xiegu accessory connection matters, and how this adapter fits into the larger TOADs DI ecosystem.
The DI8 is designed for:
• Xiegu G106
• Xiegu G90
• Xiegu X5105
With the TOADs DI and DI8 combination, these radios can be connected to a computer for popular digital ham radio modes that use transmit audio, receive audio, and PTT control.
Whether you are chasing DX on FT8, sending Winlink email from the field, experimenting with HF APRS, or just trying to get your Xiegu radio talking to your computer without building a cable from scratch, the DI8 is built for exactly that job.
This is part of the growing TOADs DI family of digital radio interfaces, built for hams who would rather get on the air than spend the weekend angering the cable goblins.
