The Icom IC-705 operates DSTAR but with the Openspot3 running cross mode, you can basically work any digital voice mode that you want to. Today I am going to setup the Icom IC-705 and connect it to the Openspot3 running cross mode, and talk into both the TGIF Network and the Brandmeister Network.

To everyone who griped about the new Icom IC-705 being a 10 watt radio with no tuner, this video is for you. I just rocked the California QSO party on 5 and 10 watts with no tuner. Plus, I made the first ever MOTA activation. MOTA? Motorcycles on the air. It’s kinda like POTA but for men.
