Parks On The Air Update – August 2021 | POTA with Vance N3VEM

Vance N3VEM has emailed around with a POTA update for August 2021. Vance says "As part of my volunteer work with Parks on the Air, I’m starting up the process of recording both a video and audio-only, monthly update for POTA, to make available to all of you to use/run as you see fit".

As the weather warms up here in VK, I look forward to doing some POTA activations.

Oceania DX Contest – Calling ALL Contesters Worldwide! | October 2021

The historic Oceania DX (“OCDX”) Contest is one of the longest-running contests in the amateur radio calendar. ALL hams worldwide are encouraged to take part.

In this stream I’m joined by seasoned contesters Martin VK7GN and Grant VK5GR who will go through:

– What is the Oceania DX Contest? How can you get involved?
– Time and date
– Categories for entry
– Propagation to Oceania – best times to find Oceania stations
– Trophies including new YL ones
– A bit of history
– DX islands in Oceania

The 76th running of the Oceania DX Contest will be held on:

SSB: Saturday October 2nd
CW: Saturday October 9th
both starting at 0600z
