Xiegu has released a brand-new HF amplifier — the GPA-100 — and I got my hands on an early prototype. The goal: see if it really works with the Icom IC-705, test the Bluetooth band switching, and push it to the full 100 watts. It did better than I expected.

The cool part? The GPA-100 keeps cost lower by removing the tuner and adding wireless control. It really did work end-to-end with the 705 and WSJT-X just like it should.

If you run a QRP rig and want to get up to 100 watts, this might be the easiest and cheapest path.
