If you’ve ever struggled with high SWR, long coax runs, or constantly re-tuning when you change bands, this might be the upgrade that fixes it. In this video, I’ll show how the URT-1 integrates with the Chameleon MIL Whip and the 17′ Stainless Steel Whip, how I mounted it on my RV, and what kind of matching range you can really expect from a remote tuner at the antenna.

This isn’t a “review” — it’s a real-world test of whether putting the tuner at the antenna feedpoint actually makes a difference for portable or mobile operators.

In this video, I take a $500 “dumb” repeater and replace the proprietary controller with software, a $30 Raspberry Pi, and a home-built interface cable. No locked menus. No vendor software. No magic boxes.

This is not a GMRS tutorial and it’s not about rules, brands, or menus. It’s about a pattern:

when the controller becomes optional, everything changes.
