Another day, another 6 meter propagation opening. This time I make some FT8 contacts and toward the end switch to SSB. I had a lot more SSB contacts but didn’t record the audio of them ????♂️????♂️

An Oggie writes asking about the Top-of-the-Line station to do a particular job, which is to communicate with his family 150 miles away. He doesn’t need an expensive Flex Radio or a super-large SteppIR antenna. A VHF mobile radio might do fine. Or the reference station. This video also includes an overview of the ham bands.
