My friend Brian Betz W7JET invited me to join him in the co-pilot seat to do a Summits on the Air activation near Show Low, Arizona. We flew to Show Low early in the morning, hopped into the xTerra at the airport, stopped for breakfast and then hiked Saint Peter’s Dome. This 10-Point summit is a really steep cinder cone covered with pines. After the activation, we sauntered to lunch and then back to the airport. What a way to do SOTA! Conditions were great and we both enjoyed the time on the air with our ham radios.
