My Facebook feed reminded me that 6 years ago, I was headed out to Wyoming to view my first ever Total Eclipse, along with Jeff AC4ZO (SK) and Bobbie KD4ZVW (Cyndi KD4ACW took her dad, Mac W4PVT (SK) down to the Columbia SC area, also along the path, but ‘iffy’ for clear WX. We all got lucky with clear skies). Later that month, we did a show to review the experience – HRN 343 "Totaled".
So as David W0DHG battens down the hatches in preparation for Tropical Storm Hilary in Los Angeles, we did a short intro, and then we present a rerun of that show from 2017. Cyndi and I are planning (and have reservations) for the next Total, in April 2024.

David is battening down the hatches for TS Hilary, so not available for a show. So it’s a RERUN of a show we did in 2017 on the Total Eclipse, because this week is the 6th anniversary of that eclipse. This live recording is just the Intro. I’ll edit that onto a playback of the show and upload it.

Finding a battery that is a good match for the Morserino can be difficult. Most batteries that work for the Morserino come with a JST connector. It’s recommended that the batteries be a single cell, 3.7 volt LiPo around 500mAh. I found a good battery with a Molex connector to match the Molex connector on the Morserino, but when it arrived, the polarization was opposite of what the Morserino used. Here’s my fix.
This is the battery I purchased. It isn’t thin enough to go underneath the Morserino.
