On Friday I drove to the top of my first two summits of the day to operate my radio for Summits on the Air. But the third summit of the day was much different. The first two were busy with foot traffic, automobile traffic, and human noise. Ahhh, but the third summit, which is a steep hike up a slope with no trail, was my favorite! Solitude. I had the whole summit to myself. Wind blowing through the treetops was like music, and the tall grass dancing to the beat of the wind gusts entertained as I sit against a tree and let the light dance through the pines onto my face.
