Today my Icom IC-705 arrived on my doorstep. I decided to get the camera out as quick as possible as I wanted to take the radio out, but not before unboxing to see what you get.
In Australia we have been privileged to be one of the first to receive the IC-705. In this video I give my first thoughts and unbox the radio. Please let me know in the comments what you think and if you will be purchasing the newest radio from Icom!

Backpacking, family, fishing, and SOTA. What more do you need in life? Not much. And it’s all packed into this film about our recent 5 day adventure into the depths of the Northern Yosemite backcountry. Two SOTA activations, plenty of fish, and gorges scenery filled the trip. Hope you enjoy coming along for the ride.

We welcome Ray Novak N9JA Senior Sales Manager of ICOM on the Ham Radio Crash Course to talk about a few of the computer interfaces for the highly anticipated IC-705 amateur radio. Ray demonstates how the ICOM RS-BA1 and Remote software can communicate with the IC-705 over wireless LAN (WLAN).

There are lots of ways to build links for Linked Dipoles, End Fed Halfwave antennas, etc. This is one of my favorites. Simple, robust, and easy to build.
