Yaesu FTM-310D Sapphire Install: The One Big Problem

Installing the Yaesu FTM-310D in Sapphire turned out to be a much bigger project than I expected! Join me and Bill as we work through mounting the new radio, customizing power poles, and tackling the challenge of routing control cables through the center console and under the carpet.

Everything seemed to be going smoothly—from the custom bullet point mount to the final radio test—until we ran into a major issue with the 20ft control cable. If you’ve ever dealt with mysterious power blinks or cable length issues during a mobile install, you’ll want to see how this one unfolded.
