Is a Freeze Crack Weldable? (#668)

Carl, K7ZYV, has a tower. Due to some cold weather conditions and water collecting inside his tower poles it now has a crack that has greatly reduced the structural integrity. He wants to know if he could weld this to fix it? If not what should he do?

When Bruce N9WKE started the DitDit podcast, he said his ultimate goal “was to always be encouraging and inspiring everyone with an interest in the code and CW, from beginners to folks with years of experience, to get on the air, there are a lot of things to do, and HAVE FUN!” Before he started the DitDit podcast he was always talking to people, especially young people, about Morse code.
