The Baofeng UV-5R has long faced criticism for its alleged non-compliance with FCC regulations and its reputation as a source of spurious emissions. Moreover, it was notorious for its tendency to transmit outside the designated ham bands. Radioddity has responded to these concerns by introducing the GT-5R, essentially an improved version of the UV-5R, designed to meet FCC requirements in terms of its RF section.
