I’m in Bude, Cornwall and I have JUST managed to lever in a DXC Expedition antenna in the VERY SMALL front garden(!), overlooking the harbour master’s office (I’ll make a video about this). Tide is out but the salty ground should make for a reasonable RF experience. Probably 40m and 20m bands BUT we also have 17m, 15m and 10m if conditions improve. This is my last transmission from Bude this year since we go home later today. PS Using call M0XXT/P to keep the QSLing easier (thanks to Tim M0URX for organising all QSLs). 73, Callum M0MCX.

I might be too early for USA but Newfoundland / NY and FLorida might come in before I stop. Anyway.. I managed to lever the DX Commander Expedition into the front garden of this holiday rental house.. This is 6-feet / 2m wide and about 25 feet / 8m or so wide. It’s RIGHT on the road so I have to be careful it doesn’t come down! Pefect tune on all bands just not 20m – but there are stainless wires at around 5m long holding the decking rail in place. I guess they are just the right length to give me a nasty balance to the 20m tune. ATU fixes it. Great tune on all other bands. So I’m available on 40m, 20m, 17m, 15m and 10m bands. SInce it’s night-time, let’s call on 40m and see who we can say hello to! Using callsign M0XXT/P so that Tim (M0URX) can do the QSLing. I say this because I don’t QSL M0MCX. I don’t have the time sorry. 73, Callum.
Bill Brown K4NYM lives in an HOA community, but he didn’t let that stop him from getting enjoying ham radio. He participates in Parks on the Air, and has found that not only can he get on the air, he can experiment, practice, and learn. Bill’s preferred mode is Morse code and he has some great pointers for those of you who are trying to learn CW.
Bill has a YouTube channel where he shows you the "life in a day" of a Parks on the Air activator. He keeps it raw so that viewers can learn the same lessons he has.
