Sometimes it’s just about getting out there with your friends and enjoying the company and the great outdoors. We had a crew of four on this joint activation, with Malen VE6VID joining us, all the way down from Alberta, Canada. Brian W7JET and Wilson were also part of the crew. This was a desert hike to the top of First Water Overlook W7A/MN-087. We qualified this summit in just a few minutes using an HT with a rubber duck antenna.

Parks on the Air Drive-Over Antenna Mount – Boyce Thompson Arboretum

I tried a couple of new things on this Parks on the Air activation of Boyce Thompson Arboretum near Superior Arizona. The drive over antenna mast mount built for me by Tony K7AJF worked out great. I also tried logging with my cell phone using HAMRS. Follow along as I set up the station and start logging the QSOs on 20 meters SSB and CW.
