Here’s a special edition of Lunch & Ham Radio. I just got word my FT5 will arrive this week. John Kruk, National Sales Manager for Yaesu will be my guest, talking about the FT5, the state of ham radio and technology and your questions.
Every summer hams across the Western United States simultaneously activate mountain top portable. This Summits on the Air event is actually three in one. Colorado, California and the Pacific Northwest all host a Summit to Summit (S2S) event in which they try to get as many S2S contacts as possible. These events often coincide with a campout or other gathering.
This video is footage of my participation in the California S2S event. I drove to Big Bear, California and camped with about 20-30 other hams who all got up on a summit for the event. The in-camp socializing was also very fun. Follow along as I show you a little bit about what an S2S event looks like.
