We’ve got a heck of an agenda tonight folks – I’ve got some bad coax as you’ve seen in my recent troubleshooting video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMSDMk5ruGc
What we’re gonna (attempt to) do tonight is:
– [ ] Plug into near end of coax direct with new radio and new union just to disprove that problem
– [ ] test dummy load first
– [ ] Test with good coax so we know what we’re looking for
– [ ] Put Dummy Load on antenna end
– [ ] sweep dummy load 1-50, 50-100, 100-150, 150-200
– [ ] 38ohms capacitance or inductance, can read in farads or henrys
– [ ] Short/Open/Load test with NanoVNA
– [ ] TDR with NanoVNA
– [ ] Cut 18" off end of coax and bring to stream
– [ ] cut off connector and share visual
– [ ] split coax open and share visual
– [ ] ultimately arriving at some answer of "the coax got wet, put a new end on it when you find the clean spot"
