I recently watched a a power output test on the Icom IC-705 done by YouTuber TheSmokinApe and I was intrigued as to his results on 70cm. He measured no more than 6 watts output. I decided to haul my service monitor (HP Agilent 8924C) out of the cupboard and test my 705 to see if I got the same results.

Having a highly portable antenna you can use to pick up Long Wave, Medium Wave and Short Wave fequencies isa good idea to add to you kit. This antenna will conntect to most radios on the market that can receive the shortwave/HF frequencies.

MFJ calls their MFJ-9504B device an "SDR Receiver Multi-Coupler," which turns out to be an RF distribution amplifier. That means you can use one receive antenna to drive up to four independent receivers. This can come in very handy for those who play with software-defined radios, or like shortwave listening, or scanners, all off of one antenna. Or, two antennas, and you can add filters to determine what each antenna contributes to the mix. Interesting, if niche, device.
