The devices include the Panasonic DMC-G7 camera, Panasonic HDC-TM90 video camera, GoPro Hero2 HD camera, Tascam DR-05 audio recorder, Audio-Technica ATR-3350 lapel microphone, Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W560 digital camera, the Kodak Zi-8 video camera, my iPhone 5S. Software used: CyberLink PowerDirector 17 on an HP Gaming Pavilion, also using Smoothdraw 4.0.5.0, FastStone Image Viewer 5.3, FastStone Capture 8.0, Audacity 2.1.1, LibreOffice 5.0.4.2, and Ink2Go 1.7.2. Login to your raspberry pi’s command line/terminal and:

(edit) /etc/profile and add (:/usr/local/bin) to the end of the path statement
(save and exit)
(verify /etc/resolv.conf has:
nameserver (some DNS server IP address)
in it, edit, save and exit if not)
export TZ=’UTC’
export PATH=$PATH:/usr/local/bin
cd
(edit) spotter-loop.py
(
uncomment frequency, call, grid
add your callsign
add your grid
save and exit
)
set your radio to your favorite WSPR frequency in USB mode
./spotter-loop.py
wait patiently for spots to appear

Dave K3GX participates in Summits on the Air and Parks on the Air. He is relatively new to these programs but has been in the amateur radio hobby since 1975. He learned Morse code not long after becoming interested in ham radio and is a very good CW operator. He has many other interests and abilities including his recent dive into 3D printing.
