No, I haven’t built my DX Commander. But I have built 30+ DMR codeplugs. Have you?
I have a free codeplug that you can download here – https://hamradio2.com/codeplug
I haven’t updated this codeplug in a while, so let’s do that today. Bring your DMR questions. This codeplug will primarily be for the Anytone radios, but with the N0GSG Contact Manager, you can use it on any radio that they support.

The Mountain Topper Radios (MTR) are the most svelte top down radio sone can have in their kit without down full stripped down home brew. They are effective, efficient and tiny. If you’re interested in Morse Code, you should probably check them out.

In this Video I show how to make an antenna stake that will be fast and strong for portable Ham Radio work. The stake has two places to mount antennas like a 17′ whip, ham sticks, hustler ham sticks, Wolf River Coil or even a Chamrleon CHA-Hybrid-Mini. Easy to put together, if you choose to drill and tap a 3/8"-24 fine thread hole in the top you can use the MPAS and that is the hardest part of the build. Links to the parts and items used in the video are listed below.

Larry, WD8MWS, has a mix between a wooden and metal fence and knows that the metal portion will affect his antenna. He wants to know if he should make his antenna unbalanced or balanced in order to move the center of the dipole from the metal fence?
