Since Jason is still on the road, i thought yet i can do this stream thing. I grab Don W1FYG from the #DonAmry to Join me to talk about radios and Cigars, and what ever else comes up.
I recently purchased a Shure MV7 microphone to use for live streams, but I also wanted to use it for my Icom IC-7300. The Shure MV7 has an XLR output as well as a USB output, so it was ideal for what I wanted to use it for. But I ran into some troubles with noise and buzz when connected to the 7300.
In this video I show exactly what I had to build and how it goes together to get the microphone to work. This should work for any XLR connected microphone you have.
Disclaimer: I bear no responsibility for any damage to your radio, microphone or equipment. Check your model and check for voltage on the mic pin before connecting!

Portable power for your ham radio gear and for your raspberry pi! This was a tight build, and I actually broke the case during assembly… but we’ll #hamharder and get it done.
Gerry Moore, VE7BDM, says some hams he knows claim certain ham radio activities aren’t ham radio! We look at the spirit of ham radio embodied in the FCC statement of the basis and purpose of ham radio to see what goes?

I picked up a copy of the original floppies that would have come with my Compaq Portable. Partly because I was curious and mostly because I didn’t know if my floppy drives worked. Never get rid of your toys boys!

Teodor, 2E0GIY, asks about using transistors as direct substitutes for tubes. The short answer is no, but there’s an interesting history behind this.
