Dirk, KM6UXE, plans to install a 4010 EFHW, but due to the shape of his surroundings he will essentially be be connecting the end to a hill that is created by the ground sloping upward. Are there any problems with this set up?

Occasionally you anticipate not having cell phone service on a SOTA excursion. In these cases most of us who operate CW rely on the RBN spotting network. But what if you plan to activate multiple peaks in a day and you don’t know when you’ll be on each summit? You can leverage SOTA Alert configurations to your advantage, so you won’t be spotted on the wrong summit.

This video documents one of four summits I did with Chris N1CLC over a spring weekend in 2022. I drove over to eastern Arizona and stayed with him in his cabin.
